Waccamaw Transport dates back to 1939 with roots in Clinton and Elizabethtown, North Carolina. The 80-year-old company is owned by the Clark family, from the beginning as part of the estate of the late Manly Clark and brothers David, Giles and Rogers. Rogers Clark held the title of president and CEO for more than 35 years, and upon his passing, his son Howell Clark took over as President and CEO.
Since 1939, Waccamaw Transport has remained a valuable and reliable fixture within the petroleum transport industry. Our owners The Clark Brothers Inc. have also been highly active in a variety of petroleum industry businesses and operate a network of convenience stores in North Carolina through Sampson-Bladen Oil Company, Inc.
In 2015, Waccamaw Transport acquired Green Motor Lines allowing for expansion of the Virginia terminal coverage areas in Richmond, Montvale, and Roanoke along with Waccamaw’s presence in Chesapeake.
Green Motor Lines was a family-owned company started in 1951. We were excited to retain Larry Green and his son Lance, along with their office staff and driver personnel. By blending Green’s renowned service with our advanced technology, customers received quality service with no interruption in petroleum transport services.
